This weekend we ran a wee competition on twitter, asking readers to tell us the best thing you’ve read this year for a chance to win a Lighthouse book bundle based on that fave. The recommendations were BRILLIANT!

We meant to just pick the one winner, but figured we could be as undisciplined as the dozens of readers who couldn't pick 'just one book'!

And so, thanks to our handy internet randomizer, we give you our three winners:

@FlowersShamini who recommended Meets the Eye? The Deaf Perspective

@talesfromideath who chose Ai WeiWei's 1000 Years of Joys & Sorrows and Alison Rumfitt's Tell Me How It Is (A curious combo!)

@KAMackinnon with Ava Homa's Daughters of Smoke & Fire

Among the hundreds of other suggestions it was great to see some of our favourites make repeat appearances - Amy Liptrot's The Instant, Alix Harrow's Once and Future Witches, and Jenni Fagan's Hex. Robin Wall Kimmerer's Braiding Sweetgrass and Gathering Moss made appearances and many of you have clearly loved Leslie Kern's Feminist City. Some authors also got a lot of airing - Becky Chambers, Alison Bechdel's work from The Secret to Superhuman Strength right through the back catalogue, Alice Oseman, oh and the list continues - including a few new books we'd never heard of that we can now go look into!

Whether you have twitter or not, it's totally worth a browse here!
