Join us to celebrate 20 years of Cinnamon Press, a tremendous indie that has published 556 books, hundreds of authors, and 21 new books to come this year!
To mark the occasion Cinnamon Press are showcasing three superb local poets — Jane McKie launching her prize-winning pamphlet, Mine, Jay Whittaker reading from Sweet Anaesthetist and Wristwatch, and G W Colkitto reading from his most recent collection, Shake the Kaleidoscope.
Jane McKie has written several poetry collections, including Morocco Rococo (2007), Kitsune (2015), and Quiet Woman, Stay (2020) with Cinnamon. Her most recent full collection is Carnation Lily Lily Rose (Blue Diode, 2023). She teaches Creative Writing at the University of Edinburgh and lives in Linlithgow.
Jay Whittaker has lived and worked in Edinburgh for 30 years. Her debut collection, Wristwatch (Cinnamon Press), was the Scottish Poetry Book of the Year in the Saltire Society Literary Awards 2018. Jay writes about resilience, grief, living with cancer, and LGBT+ lives (including her own).
G. W. Colkitto is a widely published poet, short story writer and novelist from Paisley. He won the Scottish Writers Short Story Competition, in 2011, and the Scottish Writers Poetry Competition in 2012. His poetry collections include, The Year of the Loch, Diehard Press, Waitin tae Meet wi the Deil, Diehard 2018 and three Cinnamon Press pamphlets, most recently, Crown of Thorns.
