“No one should ever underestimate the incredible blessing of being safe and feeling safe.”

Many Roads is a collection of stories and experiences of immigrant, migrant and refugee women from Asia and Africa who have settled in Wales. This anthology highlights some of the most marginalised voices and courage of refugee women, and celebrates the lives of immigrant and migrant women in Wales. From the recollection of a horrific journey from Iraq by one refugee woman, to fleeing from abuse at home and sex trafficking by another; from the joyous coming out of an immigrant woman in Wales, to another expressing her love for Anime by starting the first Anime Film Festival in Wales; Many Roads weaves in and out of the wide range of women’s experiences.

Inspired by the efforts of the UN to celebrate People of African Descent, this anthology, in part, contributes to the projects marking the UN International Decade for People of African Descent, 2015-2024.
