All We Can Save Climate Circle 3: Reframe

Are you craving a deeper dialogue about the climate crisis and building community around solutions? Are you longing for climate leadership that is justice-centred and heart-centred? Join our monthly self-organised Climate Circle at the Lighthouse, hosted by Dr. Amelia Kuch and Corine van der Schans.

Spread across 5 sessions this small group will create a safe and open space for climate conversations whilst reading chapters from All We Can Save: Truth, Courage & Solutions for the Climate Crisis by Ayana Elizabeth Johnson and Katherine K. Wilkinson. All We Can Save is an anthology of writings by 60 women at the forefront of the climate movement who are harnessing truth, courage, and solutions to lead humanity forward.

In this Edinburgh-based Circle, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with others to share your perspectives on the ideas and solutions in the book, and to walk away feeling more hopeful and energised heading into 2023. Format: We will lead you through a framework of 5 sessions and meet once every month in person for ~70/90 minutes. Each time we’ll delve into a different topic e.g. ‘Root’, ‘Advocate’, ‘Reframe’.

One of the key aims of the group is for participants to be able to connect the themes in the readings more to their everyday lives and their respective pastimes/ jobs/ studies so they feel more empowered to take tangible actions. These climate circles normally take place over 10 sessions but we are starting with 5. Find out more here: https://www.allwecansave.earth/circles.

Every two weeks we will also provide an online space for a catch-up session to reflect on the readings and discussions that took place during the in-person session. This is optional but only open to those participants in the ‘book circle’.

--

Who is this for? This Circle is open to those at any stage of their environmental and climate advocacy journey. The point is to provide a small space where we feel safe to authentically discuss and reflect.

We will only have 15 slots available as we have limited time available each session and want to ensure everyone has an opportunity to engage. We ask each of the participants to try and commit to as many in-person meetings as possible, but we also have optional online reflection sessions for those in the group who have missed a session in person. Please do read the chapters before joining the sessions to maximise engagement.

Use the code TINY-SPOILED-TOMATO at the checkout to get 10% off your copy of the book

Accesibility: The bookshop is wheelchair accessible but our toilets are down a flight of stairs. Masks will be required for all participants, and you will be seated socially distanced around the non-fiction. Our safe spaces policy will of course apply.
