**“Maybe Christmas,” he thought, “doesn’t come from a store.” **

** “Maybe Christmas…perhaps…means a little bit more!” **

With the wise words of Dr. Seuss in mind, we’ve decided to organise a festive night of poetry, music and storytelling for charity on December 11 at the wonderful Lighthouse - Edinburgh’s Radical Bookshop.

‘The Space Gecko & Friends Festive Fundraiser’ will be raising money for The Bethany Christian Trust’s ‘Buy a Bed’ campaign. For every £21 you donate through the campaign, the Edinburgh Care Shelter will provide a person who would otherwise be sleeping rough, homeless on the streets this Christmas, the following assistance:

- Overnight shelter from 9:30pm till 7am

- A warm bed space to sleep

- Safety from the elements

- Care and support from professional staff

- Access to a freshly prepared hot two course meal

- Breakfast in the morning

- Access to a range of professional on-site services

- Support for the individual to move out of the crisis of homelessness

**The event will be free entry, and we’ll have a bucket on hand at the end of the night where you can give what you can. All money raised will go to the charity, and there will also be someone on hand from the charity to tell us a little more about their work. **

The wonderful festive line up will include:

Ross McCleary

Freja Hansen

David McPherson

Nadia Freeman

Mark Gallie

Ricky Monahan Brown

…and more tba
